Overview

The Squaxin Nuclear Laboratory & Power Station (commonly abbreviated to SNLPS), located in the United States near Duvall, Washington, is ANRC's oldest site, built off the skeleton of the previous nuclear plant in the area. It is the dedicated hub to research on nuclear materials, and also serves as the host to ANRC's first experimental nuclear reactor, which continues to operate to this day.

Today, ANRC focuses on managing the research conducted within the site, while the AN-Flir Energy Corporation is now in charge of maintaining and operating the nuclear reactor on-site, with assistance from the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

The SNLPS was named after the native Squaxin Tribe, as a show of appreciation to the tribe. The site now maintains a small museum dedicated to the tribe, showing artifacts and relating their story. A few members of the tribe assist in the museum operations.
