[edit]Asakura Kolya Nakatomi is the current CEO of the Arte-Nakatomi Research Company, and at the same time, currently directs Research Department operations to some extent, primarily offering advice and projects to complete.
A tanned woman of mixed Euro-Asian descent, she is a somewhat short, thinly built woman with shoulder-length messy hair and glasses, hiding dull purple eyes. Her typical clothing is "Formal Casual," typically accompanied with a black cardigan or lab coat. Around her neck, she bears a sun-shaped necklace with her name engraved on the back. She has a tattoo of a rose on her lower left forearm, and several scars scattered across her torso from an incident.
She also experiences asthma, and is diagnosed with Attention-Deficit Hyperactive Disorder.
Backstory
[edit]Asakura was born April 2nd, 2014, to parents Ryuji Nakatomi and Maralyn Kolya, in St. Petersburg, Russia. Her father, Ryuji, had moved from Japan at 24 to Russia, where he would meet Maralyn and eventually get married. They would have Asakura, and teach her both Russian and English.
As a young kid, Asakura mostly kept to herself. She would often spend playtime in a corner, reading books, or refusing to participate in larger play sessions with the others in her kindergarten. This wouldn't be much assisted when in 2019, her parents got her a passport and moved all three to the United States, settling in Quincy, Massachusetts.
In Elementary, she was always the quiet kid, spending her time in the back of the class, getting good grades on all her assignments, and often ignoring the lessons or spacing out. Eventually, Asakura was moved to the Special Education program, but this didn't assist her either. Eventually, Administration decided to keep her in normal classes. She would move to Middle School with some of the highest points in her class.
In Middle School, Asakura would be placed in advanced classes after the first quarter, but for the first time, she would speak up and ask for more science-related classes. Around this time, at 12, she found a passion in science, which would be relatively fulfilled during her years. She would later gain 3 Honor Roll awards.
During High School, Asakura would continue to pursue science, completing all necessary credits for science within 2 years, and taking them again as secondary credits. She would similarly thrive in math, but didn't take any extra classes for it, claiming she had "had enough with the subject for 10 years." She would graduate with honors in June 2032, and similarly get accepted to her dream school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Asakura would move to Cambridge in August 2032, moving into MIT's dorms, where she would meet her roommate, Maxwell Haute, who later would father Lily Haute. At MIT, she would take to a course on Nuclear Physics, while supplementing it with Psychology and Astrophysics. She would sit next to one John Flir and bond with him over Nuclear Physics. Sometime in 2033, however, she would fatefully meet Maya Arte-Dramkt on online forums discussing all things nuclear.
The two would become fast friends, taking to calling nearly daily and discussing a variety of things. At one point, Asakura would find out Maya went to the University of Michigan.
In early 2035, Maya and Asakura would meet at a coffee shop on the MIT campus, where Maya would gift Asakura one of the most key items to herself. A necklace in a sun shape, with her name engraved on the back. Maya would go on to also show Asakura a similar necklace, in a moon shape. Essentially, matching necklaces. In a much bolder move, Maya would loudly talk to the patrons of the shop, where they would eventually catch the intrigue of one Mary Powers, who would be immediately handed Maya's contact information.
Asakura and Maya would graduate on the same stage, in a strange coincidence, on June 26th, 2036. In another extremely bold move, Maya would reject the degree and make a short speech encouraging others to reject theirs. "You never needed it. If you truly believe you are smart, then you don't need this piece of paper." The students would riot, leading to Asakura becoming incredibly embarrassed after the fact. Later, she would apologise profusely to the staff of both MIT and UoM for the issue.
Asakura, however, graduated with a Doctorate in Nuclear Physics, a Bachelors in Psychology, and a Bachelors in Astrophysics.
