[edit]

John Lionel Flir is the current Chairman of ANFEC and the Reactor Operations Advisor to ANRC's Management Board.

A tanned man of European descent, he is tall, strongly built, with a short crop of slightly messy brown hair and middle-ground green eyes. He often wears the ANFEC's usual Management uniform, but supplements it with a fur-lined bomber jacket from his grandfather, who had previously worked in the United States Air Force, operating as part of the bombing crew on a B-15.

He has no medical issues to date.

Backstory

[edit]

Born on October 9th, 2011, to parents Jacob Flir and Caroline Flir-Marrix, John grew up within Metairie, Louisiana. Growing up, John would hear many stories from his grandfather about his days in the Air Force, and find a fascination with planes and the military in general.

During his years in school, John did not achieve anything of significance. However, he passed all of his classes with relatively good grades, discovering a passion in science as time went on. In high school, John would join the Junior ROTC program after increased insistence by his grandfather to join.

But sometime in 2028, during his Junior year, his grandfather would pass. Mere hours before he passed, John's grandfather would pass his bomber jacket down to John, alongside his medals and formals. This put John in a depressive state for a few months, and would visit a therapist to recover from the grief.

He would graduate from high school in 2029, having become a Cadet Major in his JROTC group. He would leave with a mark, with 30 different ribbons. Because of this, and his good grades overall, John would be accepted into the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he would pick up Nuclear Physics and Nuclear Engineering. This is when he would meet one Asakura Nakatomi during Nuclear Physics, and become good friends with her.

When he graduated in 2034, with a Masters in Nuclear Physics and a Bachelors in Nuclear Engineering, he went to work at a US nuclear reactor site, the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, primarily at Unit 1. He would be placed in general reactor operations, shadowing Senior Reactor Operator Valorie Clinton, a woman of about 53 at the time. He would learn a great deal from her, and eventually become a Junior Reactor Operator himself.

Then, in 20XX, he was contacted by Asakura personally. She and her co-owner, Maya Arte-Dramkt, wanted to test out reactors in their new Squaxin Nuclear Laboratory, and they needed someone to oversee operations.
